Western Essex County Police are on the search for a suspect involved in an attempted home burglary in Cedar Grove on Thursday morning.
The incident was reported in the 80's block of Cedar Street, where police were alerted to a suspicious individual in the vicinity around 3 a.m.
Responding swiftly to the call, officers arrived at the scene to discover that a male suspect had attempted to break into a local residence.
However, before police could apprehend him, the suspect made a quick escape and is currently at large.
Authorities conducted an extensive search of the area, yet it remains uncertain whether the suspect fled on foot or by vehicle.
The incident remains under investigation.
