Carteret’s Annual Movies in the Park Had Everybody 'Kung-Fu Fighting' in the Best Way Possible

Hi, RLS Media friends and family! As this scorching summer begins to cool down and we finally get that sweet relief from constant heat waves, you may have noticed a slight chill starting to cling to the air in the morning or at the end of the night.

That chill signals that time year again when it’s time to slow down to prepare us for the cold seasons ahead of us, but before we do, still let ourselves enjoy any summer activities we can. Even if it’s getting that last beach day in, those few days of vacation, or a day trip to just be out of the house to be under the sun, do it while you can. AdCarteret is centered around making sure their community is out enjoying what their community has to offer together no matter the season, and you can always count on their Annual Movies in the Park. It takes place throughout July & August, every Wednesday and Saturday, in Carteret Park, Carteret Ave., Cypress St, Carteret, NJ 07008, at 8:30 p.m.

As an event that has been happening for over 10 years, it was no surprise to see the number of people from my community show up for something as simple as watching a movie together to create memories.

The rain deterred a few from attending but still didn't stop most from enjoying a nice movie in the park!

“Such a perfect way for the kids to get out of the house! We look forward to it every year!” a community member exclaimed.

Tonight’s showing was ‘Kung Fu Panda 4’, and let me tell you, nothing beats seeing children and people of all ages enjoy a movie together. I even spotted a few kids trying to mimic some of the karate moves!

‘Kung Fu Panda 4’ features Jack Black back as Po. It follows Po on his next journey as a Dragon Warrior battling a whole new villain, The Chameleon, with evil superpowers like you have never seen before. Po must face not only new challenges while traveling through the Valley of Peace but also find someone else to take his place as the new Dragon Warrior to protect his city.  Pic

“Not only for kids, but it’s a sweet way for couples of all ages to enjoy some time together as well. A nice little date night right here in the park with a blanket and snacks with your favorite person can’t beat that,” a couple explained.

I always thought these movies introduced Kung Fu and a style of fighting to kids in a fun yet unique way, allowing them to learn about and appreciate a culture that may be different from theirs.

My wonderful town of Carteret again leads us into the quieter months when we bundle and hunker into our homes. But they always make sure we remember to enjoy Summer while we can, any way we can. It warms my heart and always puts a smile on my face!
