A late night armed carjacking near Newark Penn Station has authorities investigating.
Police responded to a carjacking report that happened near Penn Plaza at around 10 p.m.
Units arrived to the scene where they located the victim who reported to police that a black female (last seen wearing a green or dark colored hoodie) approached and demanded the vehicle be handed over.
The suspect was reportedly armed with a handgun when she took a 2008 Hyundai Sonata.
Police combed the area around McCarter Highway where they located the unoccupied vehicle a short time later.
There were no physical injuries reported
