Police in Newark are on the search for the suspect that committed an armed carjacking near the Garden State Parkway in Newark.
The carjacking happened in the area of Speedway Ave. and 14th Ave. shortly before 3:30 a.m. when the armed male exited a vehicle and pointed a weapon at the victim who was occupying a yellow 2003 BMW M3. The carjacked vehicle has a reported NJ license plate number "ZRR-29N" .
The suspect's vehicle was described as a white Dodge Caravan occupied by at least two other occupants that fled northbound on the Garden State Parkway immediately after the carjacking.
There were no injuries reported.
