A Newark Police Officer suffered non-life threatening injuries after he was struck by a vehicle while patrolling on a scooter in downtown Newark.
It happened around 8:30 a.m. Monday morning, just outside the Starbucks on Broad Street near the Prudential building.
The driver of a vehicle lost control and drove onto the sidewalk, where the car struck the officer and then slammed into the corner edge of the business.
The officer was taken to the hospital, where he's reportedly in stable condition.
Police say the driver and a passenger stayed at the screen.
