A car stop in Linden Thursday led to the arrest of a 19-year-old Roselle man in possession of a stun gun, police said today.
Linden officers were on patrol when they observed a 2013 Nissan Sentra failing to observe a traffic signal at E. St. George Ave. & Chandler Avenue at 2:47 a.m. Thursday morning, Captain James Sarnicki said.
They activated their overhead lights and pulled the vehicle over.
While speaking to the occupants, the officer observed a stun gun in a rear center console.
The driver, later identified as Joshua Vincent Edwards, 19, of Roselle, was charged with possession of a prohibited device and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
He was released on a summons with a May 29 court date.
The passenger in the vehicle was not charged.
