Police believe that a vehicle left running gave a thief an easy way to steal a car in Clifton Sunday afternoon.
Officers responded to reports of a car theft at the Dunkin Donuts located at 590 Route 3 just before 1:30 a.m.
Units arrived and searched for a white 2018 Dodge Durango with a NJ license plate number "NJP94NJJ".
Police say the thief sped away from the scene and was last observed heading westbound on NJ-3.
