The driver of a car that struck a teenage boy in Irvington Township stayed at the scene and cooperated with police on Wednesday afternoon's incident.
According to police, at approximately 4:42 p.m., emergency responders rushed to the vicinity of Lyons Avenue and Lincoln Place to investigate reports of a person hit by a car.
Police and EMS arrived and found the juvenile lying on the ground after a vehicle struck him at that location.
Police say the victim was transported to the hospital, where doctors treated leg injuries. The boy's parents arrived at the medical center a short time later.
He is expected to survive his injuries.
The incident remains under investigation, police said.
