Police in Newark are investigating a crash that injured a person in Newark on Thursday morning.
According to preliminary reports, emergence responders rushed to the scene of a crash that occurred in the vicinity of Gould and South 14th Street at approximately 2:50 a.m.
Rescue crews arrived to find a car rear-ended a trailer with a trapped occupant inside at that location.
Firefighters worked for several minutes to remove the victim from the severely damaged vehicle, according to police.
After the extrication, EMS transported the unidentified victim to University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
