NJ State Police reported no injuries in a car fire that erupted on a major highway in Union County Saturday night.
Firefighters were called to the southbound lanes of The Garden state parkway near exit 140 in Union Township to investigate reports of a vehicle fire around 8:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, crews found a vehicle fully involved in flames off on the shoulder of the roadway.
Crews managed to immediately get water on the fire and extinguish the fire in under 15 minutes.
A search of the vehicle indicated n trapped or injured occupants.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
