Police believe that a vehicle found crashed into a pole on a busy Newark street Thursday was stolen.
According to a preliminary investigation, at approximately 11 p.m., police responded to reports of a serious collision near the intersection of South 11th Street and Springfield Avenue.
Police arrived and found a person ejected from the vehicle suffering severe injuries.
The drive of the car, which was reported stolen, lost control after speeding on the street, then slammed into the pole. Officers took a juvenile into custody.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
