Emergency responders are on the scene of a crash where a car left the roadway and slammed into a house at a location in Paterson just before 5:30 p.m.
According to preliminary reports, one person was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital suffering non-life threatening injuries after a car slammed into the residence at the intersection of Burlington and Totowa avenues.
The impact of the collision caused a gaping hole in the house according to police.
One person was extricated from the vehicle but it is not immediately clear if the injured person was inside the vehicle or a resident in the home.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
**UPDATE:** Police say the victim was the driver and they are looking into the possibility of DWI.
