Plainfield Police are investigating a crash that killed a man in the city Friday night.
According to Plainfield Police officials, the incident happened at approximate 11:15 pm Plainfield Police units responded to Park Avenue and Randolph Road on a single-car crash, where a vehicle struck a tree.
Police say the vehicle was occupied by the driver and a passenger.
The driver, a 29-year-old male who is a Plainfield resident, is in stable condition at a local hospital.
The passenger, a 44-year-old man did not survive his injuries. It is unknown at this time if he is a resident of the city according to Plainfield Police officials.
Plainfield Police Traffic Detectives were notified and responded. This matter is under investigation.
