Police are investigating an early morning crash that caused a small fire at a diner in Elizabeth.
The crash occurred in the 400 block of Maple Avenue on Route 1&9 at around 2 p.m. when a car crashed into a utilities pole carrying a transformer.
Emergency responders arrived to find the pole and wires down with one person injured according to reports.
Firefighters extinguished a small electrical fire that ignited inside the basement of the Maple Diner as a result of the crash reports said.
One person was transported to University Hospital suffering non-life threatening injuries.
The crash caused some traffic delays in the area as crews worked to remove the pole out of the roadway.
