Police in Union closed all eastbound lanes on Route 22 during the morning rush after a car crash caused a pole to fall onto the highway according to police.
It happened near the intersection of North Michigan Avenue at around 7:10 a.m. when a vehicle slammed into a pole causing severe damage and wires to fall on the roadway.
There were injuries reported but police non-fatal at this time.
As of 10:15 a.m., police opened up one lane to traffic causing significant congestion in the area.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
