Police charged 15-year-old male from Camden with fatally shooting another 15-year-old male on November 13, 2018.
According to a statement released by authorities, Camden County Police reports of shots fired had police located the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on Euclid Avenue after they responded to ShotSpotter activation in the area of 1500 Princess Avenue. He was taken to Cooper University Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
During the investigation, detectives were able to determine that the Camden juvenile was the perpetrator.
The 15-year-old was charged with first-degree Murder on November 16, 2018, according to Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson. Officials say he was also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
The juvenile was apprehended by the United States Marshals yesterday at approximately 5:50 p.m. at his residence. He was taken to the Camden County Police Department where he was processed and then remanded to the Camden County Juvenile Detention Center.
All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
