Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson reported a Camden man has admitted in court to fatally shooting two Camden men in the city in 2012.
Misael Lopez, 22, of Camden pleaded guilty on Friday to two counts of felony murder in the deaths of 32-year-old Louis Narvaez and 28-year-old Jose Payas Garcia, both of Camden.
Narvaez and Garcia were found lying dead in the kitchen of their home on North 24thStreet in Camden on March 17, 2012. They both had been shot.
Misael Lopez and his brother, Alexander Lopez, 36, of Camden, forcefully entered the home on North 24th Street. They both were charged with the murders of Narvaez and Garcia. Misael Lopez later confessed to being the shooter.
Alexander Lopez pled guilty to second-degree conspiracy to commit burglary on April 7, 2016. Under the terms of the plea, he will receive an eight-year prison term. He will be required to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
Under the terms of the plea, Misael Lopez will be receiving two concurrent sentences of 30 years in state prison. He will be required to serve at least 30 years of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
Misael Lopez and Alexander Lopez are scheduled to be sentenced Thursday, June 23 before Superior Court Judge Richard F. Wells.
