Camden Man Accused of Double Homicide Arrested

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson announced a Camden man has been arrested and charged in connection with a double homicide in the city that occurred last week.

James Peterson, 32, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of 50-year-old Richard Lincoln of Camden and 33-year-old Angel Martinez of Camden.

Peterson is scheduled to be arraigned at 4 p.m. on Thursday (4/21/16) before Superior Court Judge Edward J. McBride in courtroom 36 at the Camden County Hall of Justice.

On Thursday, April 14, Camden County Police responded at approximately 9:47 a.m. to the 500 block of S. 8th Street in Camden in reference to a 911 call for a male shot.

Officers located Richard Lincoln, 50, and Angel Martinez, 33, both suffering from gunshot wounds inside the house.

They both were pronounced deceased at the scene at approximately 10:03 a.m.

Peterson was remanded to the Camden County Jail on $2,000,000 bail.
