Camden

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson reported a juvenile has been charged in connection with two Camden shootings, including one that killed another teenager.

The suspect, a 17-year-old female from Camden, was charged today with first-degree murder in the death of 13-year-old Nathaniel Plummer, Jr.

Camden County Police responded to the area of Beacon and Line streets on the night of Jan. 7

at approximately 11:15 p.m. after a ShotSpotter activation and 911 calls reporting a shooting.

Arriving officers, found Plummer lying on the sidewalk. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 12:14 a.m. on January 8.

The suspect has been held at a juvenile detention facility since Jan. 9, when she surrendered to Camden County Police in connection with an October 2015 shooting.
