Camden County Police Officer’s Home Shot Up

Camden County

The home of two police officers came under attack here Tuesday night, authorities disclosed Thursday.

"Police are asking for the public's help to find the suspects and bring them to justice," Camden County officials said in announcing a Thursday afternoon press conference on the incident.

A statement from the department said that police responded to the 2900 block of Clinton Street at around 11:46 p.m. Tuesday; the officers' residence was struck by six rounds while the officers and their infant were on the second floor of the home.

Investigators found seven spent shell casings in front of the home; two rounds went through the front door and into the interior of the residence, police said.

One officer is a four-year veteran of the force; the other officer has been with the force for two years. Both officers are on leave.

A 1998 dark-colored Honda Odyssey with a temporary paper license tag was seen in the area at the time of the incident. Police located and towed the vehicle for further investigation early Thursday morning.

Two suspects are being sought.

Anyone with information on the shooting or the vehicle that was used in the shooting is urged to call the department's tip line at 856-757-7420 or use the STOPit app. A reward will likely be forthcoming, police said, for any information leading to an arrest.
