Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson announced two Camden brothers have been sentenced in connection with the fatal shootings of two Camden men in the city in 2012.
Misael Lopez, 22, received two concurrent 30-year prison terms and Alexander Lopez, 36, received an eight-year prison term in the deaths of 32-year-old Louis Narvaez and 28-year-old Jose Payas Garcia, both of Camden.
Narvaez and Garcia were found lying dead in the kitchen of their home on North 24th Street in Camden on March 17, 2012. They both had been shot.
Misael Lopez pled guilty on May 6, 2016 to two counts of felony murder for the causing the deaths of Narvaez and Garcia while in the course of committing a burglary.
Alexander Lopez pled guilty on April 7, 2016 to second-degree conspiracy to commit burglary.
Misael Lopez will be required to serve at least 30 years of his sentence before he is eligible for parole and Alexander Lopez will be required to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
The sentence was imposed Thursday by Superior Court Judge Richard F. Wells.
