Camden Authorities Investigate Body Found in Creek

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Oaklyn Police Chief Mark Moore reported an investigation is ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man found in a borough creek today.

Oaklyn Police were dispatched at approximately 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday for a report of a body in the Newton Creek near the White Horse Pike. The discovery was made by two fishermen.

The man, a black male believed to be in his 30s, was removed from the water by the Collingswood Fire Department.

Detectives are working to positively identify the man.

An autopsy will be conducted tomorrow to attempt to determine a cause and manner of death.
