Police reported no injuries in a shots-fired incident in Newark's South Ward on Thursday morning.
A ShotSpotter device alerted police of a shooting in the vicinity of 289 Elizabeth Avenue around 4 a.m.
Officers arrived at the scene and found shell casings.
While police canvassed the area, they found bullets that smashed through the window of the Jersey Fried Chicken restaurant.
No one inside was injured and the suspect fled the scene and remains at large.
