NJ State Police reported no injuries in a shots-fired incident on a highway in Essex County Wednesday evening.
According to NJ State Police officials, the shooting happened around 8:25 p.m. in the Garden State Parkway's northbound lanes near the mile marker 150.7.
Police officials said a BMW traveling on the highway was struck by multiple bullets fired from another vehicle, but no one inside the car was injured.
State police did not say if there was any interaction between the two drivers before the shooting or could not confirm if road rage was the motive.
Police temporarily closed northbound lanes for the active and ongoing investigation.
