Bullet-Riddled Car Found Outside Paterson Hospital, Two Injured

The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office has taken over the investigation into a Friday night shooting in Paterson that left two individuals injured.

Officials at St. Joseph's Hospital notified Paterson Police just before 7 p.m. when two victims arrived at the emergency room suffering from gunshot wounds.

According to the preliminary investigation, an off-duty police officer providing security at the hospital immediately went outside and discovered a bullet-riddled car that had been used to transport the victims.

Shooting

Police quickly canvassed the area and identified the crime scene in the parking lot of the former Barnert Hospital at East 31st and Broadway.

Detectives taped off the neighborhood surrounding the site and gathered evidence but did not locate any suspects or additional victims.

The victims' injuries are not reported to be life-threatening, and the motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

Authorities have not disclosed further details, and no arrests have been made.
