A 41-year-old Bronx man was sentenced today to life in prison, after kidnapping and sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, in July Arcadio Nova was convicted of first-degree kidnapping, first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree luring/enticing a child, second-degree sexual assault and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Nova, an independent contractor who made installations for DirecTV, a state lite installer, sexually assaulted the child in the stairwell of the child's apartment.
Nova, allegedly covered the child's eyes with a plastic bag, prior to sexually assaulting her.
Nova life sentence is equivalent to 75 years, of which he must serve 85 percent. He must also register as a sex offender.
