Newark Police are currently investigating a shooting incident that unfolded in broad daylight in the city's North Ward.
Preliminary information indicated that gunfire occurred in the area of 551 Summer Avenue, where responding officers discovered multiple shell casings and a vehicle struck by bullets.
Following the incident, a section of the neighborhood was cordoned off as part of the investigation.
Despite the evidence of gunfire, no gunshot victims were located at the scene.
Authorities have extended their search to include local hospitals, alerting medical personnel to be on the lookout for anyone who may seek treatment for gunshot wounds.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and the motive behind the incident remains unclear.
Newark Police continue their investigation, examining the affected vehicle and surrounding area for further evidence.
