Brief Warmth Before Cold Snap Hits Newark, Surrounding Areas

Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

My friends and family in Newark and parts of Northern New Jersey are experiencing a slightly warmer morning, with temperatures reaching the mid-50s, a notable increase from the colder conditions of the previous day.

However, the National Weather Service advises not to get too accustomed to the mild weather, as blustery and colder temperatures are expected to return later in the week.

This Tuesday morning starts with a bit of rain across the region, which is expected to dissipate quickly, leaving behind patchy fog before clearing up near mid-morning.

Areas in Morris, Sussex, and Passaic Counties, which reported temperatures in the mid-40s early today, will also see temperatures climb to the mid-50s as the day progresses.

Despite the temporary mildness, the weather service forecasts a clear and much colder night ahead, with lows dipping to around 36 degrees.

Residents are encouraged to enjoy the brief warm spell while preparing for the colder days ahead.
