Emergency responders are on the scene of a crash with fatal injuries reported on NJ-440 in Woodbridge at this time.
According to preliminary reports, the crash happened in the southbound lanes near I-287 shortly before 6 a.m. where a multi-vehicle crash - 7 vehicles- had at least one person killed and another suffering life-threatening injuries when the cars ignited into flames at that location.
There are at least a half-dozen people en route to area hospitals.
According to NJ highway officials, the left and center lanes are closed with significant delays building on the highway.
Plan accordingly and avoid if you can.
