An early morning pursuit that originated out of Union led to a violent crash in Elizabeth.
According to original reports form the scene, a vehicle that failed to pull over for police during a traffic stop in Union that occurred shortly before 5 a.m. had cops follow the vehicle that sped away.
The fleeing vehicle reached escalating speeds shortly before crashing into a wall near the train overpass on Broad Street near Morris Avenue reports said.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene where they arrived to find at least three people trapped inside the vehicle that began to ignite into flames.
Crews beat down flames and used the "Jaws of Life" to free the occupants from the vehicle reports said.
All of the victim's were rushed to University Hospital where their injuries were reported as serious.
Kean University Police searched the area around the Green Lane building for an object that was believed to have been tossed form the suspect's vehicle.
There were no injuries reported to police officers.
Expect heavy delays and street closures in the area.
