There is a large power outage affecting much of Union County at this time.
PSEG and county utility crews were alerted to the outage at around 9:15 in Cranford then received other reports from Union, Cranford, Roselle Park, Rahway, Mountainside, Garwood, and Westfield.
Multiple schools and public buildings are among about 7,000 homes that are affected according to officials.
The cause of the outage is under investigation.
UPDATE 10:45am Power is beginning to restore in Cranford and other areas.
