A multi-alarm fire that tore through a building on 14th Street and Summit Street sent dozens of firefighters from NJ and NYC to the scene early this morning.
Firefighters battled thick smoke and heavy fire that ignited inside the structure shortly before 2 a.m.
High winds caused embers to ignite a church located an 11th Street and Central, destroying the church according to fire officials.
There was a collapse of the main fire building, and the church's steeple also burned and collapsed.
EMS rushed a badly burned adult male victim to the hospital suffering critical injuries. A child was pronounced dead fire officials said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
