There is heavy police activity in a section of East Orange as officers investigate a shooting with two victims injured at this time.
According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a car in the 100 block of Walnut Street around 1:35 p.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found two females suffering bullet wounds at that location.
Police say one of the women was struck by bullets in her chest while the other victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds plus injuries consistent with being struck by a car.
There is an active crime scene established at this time.
The extent of the victim’s injuries has not been released by authorities.
