Police are on the scene of a shooting that has two victims struck at a location in Newark’s West Ward at this time.
EMS units responding to a separate incident notified police after they heard multiple rounds of gunfire and in the vicinity of 377 South 10th Street.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a male gunfire victim then another man struck by bullets on South 8th.
School officials In the area placed buildings on lockdown while police searched the scene.
The conditions of the victims have only been reported as serious at this time.
Police say the suspect fled the scene and remains at large.
