Police are on the scene of a shooting that injured one in Elizabeth just before 2 p.m.
According to initial reports, police were called to the area of 201 1st Street on reports of a shooting.
Reports said when police arrived, they found a male victim shot in the back at that location.
The victim was then transported to University Hospital in Newark and is currently in serious but stable condition.
Police say that the suspect fled the scene and remains at large
