Responders are reporting severe injuries for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in Elizabeth on Monday morning.
There are few official details regarding the incident that happened just before 5:50 a.m. at the intersection of Division and Bond streets.
According to preliminary reports, police taped off the intersection then requested an accident investigation team to the scene after they found a severely injured person lying in the roadway at that location.
EMS provided life-saving medical techniques to the victim at the scene.
The victim was transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment. The incident remains under investigation.
Expect some traffic detours at the intersection that leads to the NJ Turnpike's 13A exchange for local trucking companies and traffic for Port Elizabeth.
