A raging three-alarm house fire that broke out in the city sent firefighters to the scene early this morning.
Firefighters raced to the 300 block of Ohio Street a little after 4 a.m. on reports of a fire that erupted at that location.
Crews arrived to the scene where they were met with heavy smoke and fire that billowed from a multi-family house that began to extend to other structures.
Over a half dozen people has been treated for non-life threatening injuries (smoke inhalation). Two victims have been reported as serious and transported to the hospital.
Firefighters were reportedly hampered by very low water pressure in the area.
The fire had not been brought under control as of 5:15 a.m.
Union, Irvington, Maplewood and Elizabeth are among some of the companies on the scene.
