The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office is on the scene investigating a fatal shooting that involved an alleged worksite dispute Wednesday morning.
According to preliminary information, more than a dozen police officers raced to reports of shots fired at PSE&G located in the 400 block of Weston Canal Road just before 9 a.m.
Upon arrival, police found a male victim suffering gunshot wounds at that location.
RLS Media could not confirm the extent of the man's injuries, but sources close to the investigation said the worker was killed in the shooting.
While cops combed through the scene, they learned that the suspect, an employee at PSEG, was found suffering a fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head near the Somerset Patriots ballpark.
A weapon was found near the deceased suspect.
Sources say several employees at PSE&G engaged in several months of unresolved disputes that reportedly led to today's incident.
PSE&G would not comment on the allegation at this time.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
