BREAKING PATERSON: Gunfire Strikes Seven in Paterson; Two Dead

A man found shot in a neighborhood in Paterson has suffered fatally.

Multiple rounds of gunfire rang out in the 200 block of 16th Avenue sending police to the scene before 11:45 p.m.

Units arriving at the scene found the severely injured victim shot twice to the torso at that location.

EMS rushed the victim to St. Joseph's Hospital where he was pronounced dead at around midnight according to reports.

A black male suspect wearing dark clothing was observed fleeing the scene on a bicycle reports said.

In an early morning shooting incident, police responded to the area of Broadway and Main Street shortly before 5:30 a.m. after receiving reports of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they found three victims shot at that location.

According to reports, one of the victims was found shot in the torso and in "grave condition" while the other victims suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

St. Joseph's Hospital officials contacted police when two additional victims arrived at the hospital suffering unspecified gunshot wounds.

A silver or grey four-door vehicle was observed speeding from the scene immediately after the shooting.

The motive for the shootings are under investigation.

**UPDATE 6:19am The victim reportedly in "grave condition" has now died. This makes it two (2) killed in Paterson.**

**UPDATE 6:22am The location is being reported as an illegal after-hours spot.**

There were no arrests reported.
