Police in Paterson are on the scene of shots fired at a location in the city at this time.
According to police, a ShotSpotter activation alerted authorities of about rounds of gunfire that rang put in the vicinity of 14th Avenue and East 25th Street at approximately 8:13 p.m.
When police arrived at the scene, they taped off the area after finding multiple shell casings but after canvassing the scene, no victims were found.
Officials at St. Joseph's Medical Center contacted police when two gunshot victims entered the hospital suffering bullet wounds.
Police say one of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
