Union County authorities are currently at the scene of a tragic accident in Scotch Plains, where a single-vehicle crash has claimed one life this Christmas morning.
The incident occurred around 6:25 am in the westbound lanes of Route 22. Emergency responders, upon arrival, discovered a car that had collided with a pole near Victor Street.
Sadly, one individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
In response to this fatal incident, police have closed off the highway at Glenside Avenue to conduct an active investigation.
As of now, there are no reports of other injuries related to this accident.
More details are expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
