NJ State Police officials are investigating a crash that involved a bus on a highway in Atlantic County on Tuesday.
According to a preliminary report released by NJ Transit, the crash happened at approximately 3:57 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the Atlantic City Expressway at milepost 24.8 in Hamilton Township.
Officials said bus 551 left Atlantic City, headed to Philadelphia, left the highway and crashed into a tree with the driver and seven occupants onboard.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene and transported the driver and five occupants to various hospitals in unspecified conditions.
The cause of the crash is under investigation and being led by NJ State Police at this time.
