There are fatal injuries reported for victims of a double shooting that occurred this evening in Newark's South Ward.
A large contingent of police and emergency responders were in the 400 block of Irvine Turner Boulevard investigating a shooting that has two male victims dead.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the area at around 5:30 p.m. where arriving units found both victims injured at that location.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, both victims died at the scene.
Police closed Irvine Turner Boulevard from Clinton Avenue to West Bigelow.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
There are no arrests reported.
