BREAKING NEWARK NJ: Police Involved Shooting Injures Two in Newark's North Ward

A shooting that happened in the city's North Ward has heavy police on the scene at this time.

Reports of shots fired sent police to the 100 block of Bloomfield Avenue near Garside Street where they located a male victim struck by gunfire.

The victim was hit in the leg by gunfire at that location according to reports.

His injuries are not life-threatening.

Three suspects ran from the scene and were last spotted in the area of Kearny Street and Broadway.

Police apprehended one suspect near a dumpster at Technology High School.

Police are canvassing the area for two other men who are at-large.

There is a large crime scene that stretches several blocks around the high school.

The Essex County Sherriff's Department are on the scene. There are no injured police officers.

Avoid the area for the investigation.

**UPDATE 5:12 p.m. There is one other person (25-year-old male) shot at this time. The condition of the victim is "poor."**

UPDATE 6:03 p.m. This is now a fatal shooting.
