Police and EMS are on the scene of a pedestrian strike that has a woman fatally injured at this time in the city.
The incident happened in the area of South 19th Street and Springfield Avenue at around 6:50 p.m. where police were called to the scene for a pedestrian strike at that location.
Arriving emergency responders found the severely injured woman laying on the ground unconscious and unresponsive.
The driver of the vehicle reportedly sped away from the scene.
That vehicle is being reported as a 2015 or 2016 Nissan Maxima or Altima at this time.
Please avoid the area for the investigation.
Police have all lanes closed.
