Police are on the scene of a shooting with a man suffering severe injuries at a location in Newark’s East Ward at this time.
According to police, gunfire rang out in the vicinity of 7 Hawkins Court at approximately 7:35 p.m.
Police say when officers arrived at the scene, they found a male suffering multiple gunshot wounds in the abdomen and once in his neck inside a business located at 107 Hawkins Street.
According to police, shell casings were found on Hawkins Court where they believe the shooting initiated.
Officers taped off both locations for the investigation.
The condition of the victim has only been reported as severe at this time.
