Essex County authorities are on the scene of shots fired investigation with a male down suffering fatal injuries at this time.
Gunfire rang out in the 200 block of Dayton Street at approximately 9:20 pm sending police to the scene where they found the victim suffering a gunshot wound to the head.
Medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Police taped off the area to began their investigation and search of the area.
The gunman fired about a half dozen shots at the victim before running from the scene.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
