Firefighters are on the scene of a fire that ignited inside a home in Newark’s upper West Ward.
According to preliminary reports, fire broke out inside a two and a half story wood-framed house located in the 40’s block of Tuxedo Parkway shortly before 6:20 a.m.
Upon arrival, crews found heavy fire coming from the basement that began to extend up to the first floor according to officials.
As of 6:40 a.m., one person was treated for breathing issues due to smoke inhalation but there were no other injuries reported.
Crews were able to get the blaze under control in a short amount of time with the cause of the fire under investigation.
