A crash investigation is underway on a highway in Bergen County, with police reporting a fatality early Monday morning.
A preliminary investigation indicated that at around 5:35 a.m., emergency responders rushed to the eastbound lanes of Route 4 to investigate reports of a collision with injuries.
Police and EMS arrived and found a severely injured motorcyclist ejected from the bike near Queen Anne Road.
Police closed all lanes after the victim was pronounced dead shortly after the collision.
Responders at the scene reported the motorcyclist collided with a deer at that location. There are several vehicles involved in this incident.
Expect heavy delays during the morning rush as Bergen County authorities investigate the crash. This is a full closure of Route 4 with heavy delays going back to the Hackensack Bridge.
