Police are on the scene of a shooting with a man down in a section of Paterson at this time.
According to police, at approximately 9 a.m., police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 50 Carroll Street.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim suffering multiple bullet wounds at that location.
Police say the unidentified man was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment and is in serious condition.
Officers working the crime scene were told that a second person ran from the scene who was possibly shot as well.
The investigation is active, ongoing and there are no arrests reported.
